Results of General Meeting

Yesterday’s general meeting was a great success. Thanks to everyone who came out!

We discussed a number of new proposals at the meeting, including our bowling night, fundraising for the undergrad computer science lab, printing ACM t-shirts, and many other awesome new ideas.

I officially announced the Computer Science Symposium. We’re co-sponsoring this event with the Career Center this year. It will be held October 23rd from 5-8pm in Jack Adams Hall. Dress business casual — and bring your resume. More details coming soon.

Welcome

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year!

This year I’m pleased to announce two new services: book loans and study sessions. All ACM members are eligible to borrow any book we have — for an entire semester — for free. Click here to find out how.

And for the first time, the ACM will be hosting study sessions to help you with your classes. E-mail Marc Sosnick (msosnick@sfsu.edu) if you’re interested in participating in a study session.

As always, this is YOUR club. It would not be possible without the efforts of volunteers. This includes not only the chapter officers and committees, but also tutors, event chaperons, study session leaders, and probably a few folks I’ve forgotten. If you would like to be involved in any way, send me an e-mail.
